Questions? Good. Let's Answer Them.

The Basics
The Dental Efficiency Guy, led by Gabriel Hofmann, is a dental practice coaching and consulting service for private practice owners and group practice leaders. The work centers on three areas: building team culture and leadership, installing systems and accountability that actually stick, and creating sustainable growth. Rather than handing over a generic playbook, we partner directly with owners and their teams to make the shift from clinician to CEO manageable and lasting.
We work with solo private practice owners, small group practices, and emerging DSOs or multi-location groups. We also work with associates and newer owners who are just starting to think about how to lead a practice as a business. The common thread is a practice owner who is excellent clinically and ready to build the team, systems, and culture that let the business run without running them.
A course lives in your inbox and a one-time consultant hands you a binder and leaves. Coaching with The Dental Efficiency Guy is an ongoing partnership. We learn your specific practice, your people, and your goals, then work alongside you and your team over time to implement real change and hold the accountability that makes it stick. The relationship is built around your situation, not a template.
Yes. Team culture, accountability, and developing team members into leaders are core parts of the work. We help owners build engagement frameworks, clear role clarity, scorecards, and meeting and huddle rhythms so that accountability becomes part of the culture rather than something that only comes up when things go wrong.
Absolutely. This is a signature strength. We help practices document and implement SOPs that are actually followed, build decision-making frameworks, optimize scheduling to production goals, tighten collections and financial reconciliation, and create the operational infrastructure that makes consistency possible as the practice grows.
Solo & Small Practices
Not at all. Solo and small private practices are a core focus. In fact, solo owners often see the fastest change because decisions can be implemented quickly. Whether you have one location or several, the work is scaled to fit where you are and what you are trying to build.
Results vary by practice, but the focus is always on sustainable improvement across team accountability, operational consistency, collections and production, and the owner's ability to lead rather than firefight. The goal is a practice that runs on systems and culture rather than on the owner being present for everything. Many owners describe the biggest shift as finally feeling like they own the business instead of the business owning them.
Groups & DSOs
Yes. We work with small groups and emerging DSOs on multi-location strategy, standardizing systems across sites, developing location-level leaders, and aligning operations with the larger vision so that growth feels like momentum rather than added chaos.
New to Coaching
If the practice feels harder to run than it should, if your team is not where you need them to be, or if the changes you try never seem to stick, those are strong signals that a coaching partnership could help. The simplest way to find out is to take the free Efficiency Evaluation or book a free discovery call. There is no pressure and no obligation, just an honest conversation about your situation.
The Efficiency Evaluation is a free, six-question self-assessment that gives you an objective score on how efficiently your practice runs right now. It takes about two minutes, covers areas like systems, scheduling, accountability, collections, and vision, and delivers a tailored result showing where your biggest gaps and opportunities are. You receive a copy of your results, and it is a simple, no-pressure way to see where you stand. Take the evaluation here.
Getting Started & Logistics
Investment depends on the scope of the engagement, the size of your practice or group, and what you are trying to accomplish. A solo practice working on one or two priorities looks different from a multi-location group building out systems across sites. The best next step is a free discovery call, where we can talk through your situation and outline what a right-sized partnership would look like for you.
The best first step is a free discovery call with Gabriel Hofmann. From there, the typical path is a practice assessment, a custom roadmap built around your goals, and then an ongoing partnership to implement it. You can book a call directly, take the free Efficiency Evaluation, or download the free guide to start.
The Dental Efficiency Guy is based in Carmel, Indiana, and works with dental practices across the United States. Coaching is delivered through a mix of virtual and on-site work depending on the engagement, so location is rarely a barrier to partnering.
Yes. Gabriel Hofmann is a speaker and author, and hosts The Dental Efficiency Playbook podcast, which shares practical insight for dental practice owners on building teams, systems, and culture. He is available for speaking engagements and podcast guest appearances as well.
